Melanie Lynskey, not to be confused with Monica Lewinsky, is the latest actor to join the cast of Hulu’s Stephen King series Castle Rock. Lynskey joins Sissy Spacek and Jane Levy, with much more to be announced on the project.
Castle Rock is a thriller series based on the Stephen King fictional town which featured throughout King’s writing, namely The Dead Zone and The Dark Half.
Variety writes that “Lynskey will play Molly Strand, a woman with a rare medical condition who’s barely scraping by as a real estate agent in a town where every third property is the site of someone’s worst nightmare“.
Melanie Lynskey is perhaps most popularly known for her recurring role as Rose in Two and a Half Men, Charlie’s obsessive neighbour and all around loon. Rather underrated, Lynskey consistently proves how big of an impact she has onscreen with smaller roles, and it’s hopeful that Castle Rock will give her a larger platform.
Hulu has billed Castle Rock for an initial ten episode series executive produced by J.J. Abrams. The following teaser was released in February.
