‘Nerve’: Are You A Watcher Or A Player? | Film Review
Nerve is a 2016 adventure film directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, mostly known for Paranormal Activity 3 and 4. It is starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco in the main roles. Other actors include Emily Meade, Miles Heizer and Kimiko Glenn.
A synopsis reads: ” A high school senior finds herself immersed in an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of watchers“.
What I liked about this film is that it showed how far technology can go and how much time people invest in their devices and being online. The chemistry between Emma Roberts and Dave Franco is undeniable and the challenges they have to do in the game are worthy of watchers’ time. The challenges represent a rollercoaster and while watching this film it makes you wonder how far the characters will go in order not to lose everything.
This film is not only about truth or dare games, it’s also a film about friendship and finding love in an unexpected circumstance. It is filled with dangerous moments and also some humor. All in all, a movie that is worth watching.
Nerve is out in cinemas everywhere!
