Celebrities singing to the car radio has become the latest nugget of TV gold, and one of the reasons why James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke segment is such a hit. However, now that Michelle Obama has agreed to take part, it may just become a global phenomenon.
The format is nothing new, but thanks to the YouTube era in which we live, the videos garner millions of views between them. Some videos have been watched by more than 110 million people, which is 100 times the number of people who watch The Late Late Show on TV.
Many celebrities including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gwen Stefani, Sia, Adele, and more have taken part in Carpool Karaoke, so Obama joins an already-impressive list.
