Feud, a new FX anthology series created by Ryan Murphy, has been confirmed for a second season – even though the first has yet to premiere!
Season 1, titled Feud: Bette and Joan, is scheduled to premiere this Sunday. It focuses on the personal and professional rivalry between actresses Bette Davis and Joan Crawford while on the set of What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?
It definitely amps up the hype for the series if it’s good enough to secure a second season, but a deciding factor could be the focus of the second season, which will examine the unhappy marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles of Wales. Season 2, titled Feud: Charles And Diana, will premiere in 2018.
Expectations for the success of the season are high, because the numerous tributes to the 20th death anniversary of the “People’s Princess” are sure to generate interest. Diana passed away due to fatal injuries sustained in a car crash, August 1997.
Feud creator Murphy and Jon Robin Baitz will write the second season and simultaneously serve as executive producers, alongside Dede Gardner, Plan B Entertainment and Alexis Martin. The limited series will be produced under Fox 21 Television Studios’ wing.
Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning Ryan Murphy has served as a writer, producer and director for several hit anthology shows, like American Horror Story and American Crime Story. The latter series recently won several Emmys for its first season: The People v. O.J. Simpson.
Murphy is also credited with creating the award-winning hit musical comedy series, Glee, and the award-winning hit drama, Nip/Tuck.
