Gillian Flynn, the author of the book Gone Girl which was recently turned into a film starring Ben Affleck, is adapting her novel Sharp Objects for TV. The novel is about newspaper reporter Camille Preaker who finishes her time at a hospital for self-harm following the death of her sister Marian during her childhood. She is forced to return to her life on the outside and finds herself covering a murder involving two young girls. Her mother is a wealthy business owner who shows her no affection. Her half-sister is an IT girl and a bully who terrorizes people in their town. The author’s debut novel will be turned in a drama series lasting an hour each episode, and Flynn will be an executive producer on the TV show. Sharp Objects will be broadcast on TV channel Entertainment One.
