The Australian modern garage rock singer Sloan Peterson has just released the music video for her new single “I Want You“. This song came from her new debut EP entitled Midnight Love which is out today via Mirror Records.
This new artist said about this single “I wrote this when I was 17, when I wrote and recorded a five track doo-wop EP. This song has just stuck with me the whole time. It was heavily influenced by bands like The Ronettes, The Crystals, Barbara Lynn and Herman’s Hermits“.
Speaking about the artist, she has always had a clear idea about her taste in music. Indeed since she was young she started recording music through her laptop and filming homemade music videos. She’s influenced by everything from Elvis to Latin legend Xavier Cugat or the fashion statements of Nancy Sinatra and Bowie.
In this year, she appeared with her single “Rats” on BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac‘s ‘New Name’ and also her first single “105” was added by Los Angeles station KCRW.
She is getting attention from the press very fast. Stereogum describes her as “A 50’s rock ‘n’ roll aura, something like Brigitte Bardot meets Buddy Holly”.
