Ebenezer Yebuah also better known by his stage name Mawule is a Ghanaian-American R&B artist and activist. He has recently unveiled a new visual for his single “It’s Not You”, which is especially written to build awareness around domestic violence and sexual assault, help decrease the victim-blaming that occurs within society, and to create meaningful dialogue within the community through art.
Mawule has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master’s in Student Affairs and Higher Education. He uses music to reflect the human experience and in that way, empower other people. This also mean that his education may have been a big help too, especially to put himself in others position, life and trying to understand their situation.
Mawule wants to bring awareness to specific society issues and topics, such as: race, poverty, sexual violence, suicide awareness and self-discovery, and often these topics are not being brought up enough. Watch the amazing and touching visual for Mawule’s single “It’s not you” below!
