Australian producer Chris Emerson, better known by his stage name What So Not has just dropped off, for the first time on Counter Records, a brand new track entitled “Be Ok Again” featuring post-grunge Silverchair band’s frontman Daniel Johns.
Before the collaboration with this legendary rockstar, the electronic music producer has worked with many big names such as Skrillex and RL Grime for the dance-track “Waiting“, and LPX for the fans favorite track “Better“.
But now, compared to his other projects, Chris wanted to create something more personal by writing and performing his own vocals for the first time. Indeed he explains, “Immediate paralysing sadness, optimism, nervousness and excitement. This song explores how we redefine and rebuild our reality upon dramatic ends to relationships. It was inspiring bringing someone of Daniel’s calibre in on this piece and I’m thankful for how much he pushed me creatively“.
While Daniel Johns instead, has said, “Watching Emoh work is eye opening. A real professional with great vision. We worked on tracks for this album and we’re really proud of the work. I’m excited for people to hear the first taste of our collaboration, ‘Be Ok Again’“.
After sold out shows across Europe, the USA and UK, you can check here for What So Not’ upcoming tour date.
