As Golden Globes have opened the award season, the Oscars have just closed it on Sunday, March 4. The 90th Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
The Shape Of Water – film about romantic relationship of mute girl and unearthly aquatic creature – won 4 awards, including the main award for Best Picture. Historic drama Dunkirk has been awarded in 3 categories, while Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Darkest Hour, Blade Runner 2049 and Coco got 2 awards each.
Talking about fashion, black has been the main protagonist on the red carpet, urging all Hollywood to join the initiative Time’s Up, which claims a social change within the industry – same opportunities and recognising for all men and women – but we have returned to the norm this time. Swathes of colour and sequins have dominated the Oscars 2018 red carpet.
As always, we have seen amazing couture dresses signed by the best designers all around the world, but something has changed this time. Although Yves Saint Laurent gave women the tuxedo, these type of events continue to maintain a certain cliché which makes a woman in pants and jacket a little bit shocking. That has been Emma Stone‘s choice, wearing an incredible Louis Vuitton total look.
