The select few that were privileged to secure tickets to Anderson .Paak‘s free one night only show in London were royally treated last night as he surprised fans by bringing out the incomparable Dr. Dre.
Dr. Dre took to the stage during the concert at a sold out O2 Academy Brixton to an almighty roar from the crowd. The two performed “Still D.R.E.” and “The Next Episode” from Dre’s album 2001. The free gig was filmed for and in association with Apple Music and Beats.
“This man right here is destined to be a star,” Dre told the audience at the free show. “Trust me.”
Dre reportedly has lent a heavy hand in producing .Paak’s next record, the follow-up to 2016’s Malibu, due out this year. “It’s dope to be around like legends like that and you can feel the mutual respect,” .Paak said regarding his mentor. “That’s what I always did it for, I wasn’t really thinking about money or fame, I just wanted the respect from the people I look up to musically.”

Tickets for last night’s show sold out almost instantly so for those who managed to be present, they were able to witness something that was truly magical. Let’s hope that this forthcoming album can truly capture and replicate that magic.
