Chvrches have delivered a powerful live airing of their latest single “Miracle“. The Scottish synth-pop trio appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon last night promoting their upcoming album.
Debuting in 2013 with their EP Recover, their debut studio album The Bones Of What You Believe followed shortly and included hits “Gun” and “Lies”. The following year, they contributed two singles as part of the soundtrack of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 – “Get Away” and “Dead Air”.
Two years after their first album, the band released their second, Every Open Eye, with singles “Warning Call” from the video game Mirror Edge Catalyst, and “Bury It” featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore.
Love Is Dead is their third project which will be released on May 25 and has churned singles “Get Out” and newest hit “Miracle” – with a one shot music video directed by Warren Fu, who previously shot for The Weeknd, A Tribe Called Quest, Aaliyah and more.
Taking to the stage last night on Fallon, the band gave a dramatic rendition of the new track as lashings of dry ice lapped up at their feet. The appearance – which saw frontwoman Lauren Mayberry belt out some impressive distorted vocals – marked the first live performance of the tune. Watch the performance below:
