Emmy-winning singer-songwriter Dolly Parton is set to produce and star in Netflix‘s upcoming eight-part series with storylines inspired by her best-loved songs. Co-produced by Dixie Pixie Productions and Warner Bros, the first part of the show will premiere on the streaming service in early 2019, focusing on only one of Parton’s classic songs.
“As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music.” the Country legend said in a statement, serving as both singer and songwriter for the anthology series.
“I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix. We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support”.
