The wait is almost over and after ten long years Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is about to hit the big screen. Book your seat for this Friday, grab your popcorn and be transported into the crazy Greek universe!
The cast is once again full of stars and many of them attended the original blue carpet of the premiere yesterday night in London at Hammersmith Apollo. The icon of the movie Meryl Streep was there in a total blue suit, always in a perfect look and all smiles. And she gave her best impression together with Cher, the new entry for the sequel.
The beautiful Amanda Seyfried showed out yesterday in an elegant – but maybe too dark for the Mediterranean-theme occasion – black trousers & jacket while Lily James wore a strapless, floor length white and blue gown, bringing some of the Greek atmosphere and colours.
Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan joined the female stars of the comedy as well at the British premiere, which reproduced the movie setting with pale watercolours, flowers and lemons everywhere, and the hot London summer helped too.
The film has been long teased and we all know, more or less, what is it about. Set after the events of the first film, it features extensive flashbacks to 1979 to tell the story of how Donna (Streep) came to be on the Greek island of Kalokairi. Sophie is once again the protagonist, pregnant and ready to meet her strange and curious grandma Ruby (Cher).
Directed by 2012’s Now Is Good filmmaker Ol Parker, Tom Hanks served as executive producer on the film alongside his wife Rita Wilson, and iconic band ABBA contributed to it as well.
The 2008 film version was a box office triumph and we just can’t wait to watch the second chapter.
