After announcing his debut album recently and sharing its first single “Waiting For You“, Australian artist/producer cln returns with another incredibly sweet album teaser, “Own Skin“.
cln uses “Own Skin” to transport the listener to the sounds of South Africa. Having been inspired to finish the track after a visit to Kruger National Park in Limpopo with his partner, you really get a sense of the serenity he must have felt in that moment. The mellow drum patterns work beautifully in harmony with the lingering synths and his vocals serve as a nice finishing touch.
“The sunsets in the Kruger National Park are very beautiful, and the noises of all the wildlife accompanying them even more so. Those scenes inspired me to finish this song and most of the imagery in the lyrics; it’s about being comfortable with yourself, and not feeling like you have to be someone else.”
Production has always been the main focus on each of cln’s releases, using his voice as another ‘tool’ that he can use to help create a song. With that in mind, close your eyes, hit play and prepare to be carried away to the plains of South Africa.
