Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley delivered arguably the comedy of 2018 with Game Night. Unsurprisingly, they have a new project set up at Universal. The duo will write, direct and produce a horror comedy titled The Creeps.
There aren’t too many details available yet, but the film is being described as a “coming-of-age comedic horror”. Goldstein and Daley also penned the script for Spider-Man: Homecoming, so they aren’t strangers to coming-of-age narratives. Game Night was a critical hit, and impressively showed off some serious filmmaking chops, so the duo look to have a very bright future in the genre.
Goldstein and Daley are also currently attached to Warner Bros.’ The Flash movie. However that film is currently in a protracted development and is getting a darker re-write from star Ezra Miller. They also have a produce credit on the comedy Stuber, which stars Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani, which earned good reviews during its recent premiere at SXSW.
Although there are little details regarding The Creeps, Goldstein and Daley are the hot new things in the comedy world, and it will be exciting to see what they can do after Game Night‘s success. Because they’re likely in demand, this project could come together quickly.
