Actress and entrepreneur Kate Hudson has officially unveiled her first ever ready-to-wear fashion brand, Happy x Nature (pronounced as ‘Happy By Nature’), which reflects her free-spirited West Coast style. It’s a new sustainable line, that even ended up in the brand’s name, which Hudson’s partner Danny Fujikawa helped her come up with.
The California inspired collection includes countless printed sundresses made of recycled cotton, knit sets, prairie blouses and boot-cut denim that she insist on having, completed with tops, skirt, jumpsuits, trousers and jackets. The line has been created with sustainable materials such as crushed plastic bottles and will be shipped in biodegradable bags that break down within 12 to 18 months.
Hudson admitted building a 100% sustainable brand is really challenging, “we tried to keep the carbon footprint as low as possible.” She also explained the clothing is made of natural fibres and hopes to increase the company’s sustainability as time goes on. “I just hope this becomes so successful that every brand starts rethinking the way they do things. It feels like a responsibility in fashion now.”
The other good news is the line is affordable and priced between $48 to $148. Check out the best of the collection below worn by Hudson. Shop the look on the Happy x Nature web site.
