Jorja Smith has revealed she’s written a James Bond song in case she’s ever asked to do it. She added that singing the theme for the upcoming Bond film would be a dream come true for her.
Speaking on The Official Big Top 40, the Brit Awards winner said she liked the idea of featuring on the soundtrack for the legendary franchise that she’s already written her own unofficial theme. The vocalist disclosed she often imagines films while songwriting and would be “capable” of penning an adequate tune for the latest 007 film.
“That’s a dream. Yeah I’d love to write a Bond song. I really do. I kind of wrote one, like a pretend one, but I do really want to write one, I’d love to”, Jorja said. “I like writing cinematic things. Things for films. I always imagine movies in my head sometimes when I’m writing songs”.
To fulfil her dream, the 22-year-old singer will have to outshine the likes of Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa, who are both considered as serious candidates for the job. The next artist to record a theme song for the famous series will follow Sam Smith, the author of Spectre’s “Writing On The Wall”, and Adele, who performed “Skyfall” for the movie of the same title.
The last James Bond film featuring Daniel Craig as the iconic British spy will be called No Time To Die. It will hit UK cinemas on April 3 next year. The US premiere is set for April 8.
