Peter Sarsgaard is the latest major actor to join the cast of The Batman. However, unlike his co-stars Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Paul Dano, Zoë Kravitz and Andy Serkis, Sarsgaard’s role is currently unknown. However, there are plenty of clues as to who he might be playing.
Per THR, Sarsgaard is either playing a district attorney or a corrupt cop. The district attorney in question is likely Harvey Dent/Two-Face, which would add yet another villain to the already busy rogues gallery of Matt Reeves‘ film.
Multiple outlets are speculating that the corrupt cop could be Harvey Bullock or Arnold Flass, or perhaps a brand new character created specifically for the film. Sarsgaard is one of the great contemporary actors who never truly got his chance to be a star. He often turns up in supporting roles, and consistently kills it. Hopefully this propel hi stature even further.
Another clue that Sarsgaard is playing Two-Face came from wife Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s Instagram, which posted a picture of Sarsgaard halfway through a shave. If that picture below isn’t a Two-Face reference, then what it could it be?

Whatever your thoughts on another Batman movie, The Batman has certainly collected a treasure chest of talented actors. The hype machine will soon kick into overdrive, even though the film is still over a year away. The Batman hits cinemas (and makes a lot of money) in 2021.
