The sequel to the successful 2018 horror film A Quiet Place is just around the corner, and the very first trailer has just been dropped.
Directed by John Krasinski, the highly anticipated sequel is set in a post-apocalyptic USA where noise-sensitive aliens pursue and kill the humans they encounter.
The trailer gives us a glimpse into the terrifying world of silence that Evelyn (Emily Blunt) navigates with her two teenaged children (Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe) and new-born baby.
Opening with a flashback sequence apparently from the first day of the alien invasion, the trailer recalls the initial fear and confusion from the first film before hinting at some of the terrifying events that will unfold in the upcoming sequel.
Blunt is depicted journeying through American farmland with a gun in one hand and a baby in the other, fighting to protect her family. The trailer hints at the near misses, tense moments and moral dilemmas that will punctuate the intense new film.
Alongside Blunt, Simmonds and Jupe, the trailer features two new major characters played by Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy and Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou.
A Quiet Place Part II is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on March 20.
