Indie Pop Artist CELIIN Debuts New Single ‘Nasty Human’ | Music News

Norwegian indie pop artist CELIIN, real name Celine Helgemo, has just released her new track, “Nasty Human”! After her last single “Leonardo” which was showing more the romantic and sensitive side of the artist, she comes back with a second darker sound.

The artist is well known in Norway. Her debut album, which sold more than 46,000 copies and went platinum, made her Norway’s best-selling female artist that same year. In 2013, the artist sang the title song of the show Violetta for Disney. The artist also performed at the Spellemannsprisen, the Norwegian Grammys.

In 2015, she appeared on one of Norway’s two most watched shows, Stjernekamp. After that, the artist spent four years refining her art, which is where CELIIN was born.

CELIIN is inspired by artists such as Banks, Lana Del Rey or Nothing But Thieves. The pop artist likes to add dark plots to her lyrics, and is constantly searching for the balance between beauty and macabre, glamour and filth. According to the artist, “CELIIN is a romantic, depressed, grandiose version” of herself.

“Nasty Human” is CELIIN’s second single. In this track, the artist talks about evil, the nasty present in every human, but also about anxiety, guilt and tension.
