British R&B artist IMONI has just unveiled a brand-new single called “Hide & Seek”. The song is her second offering since her comeback to creating music during the first lockdown, after three years without releasing a single piece of music.
With eerie, stripped back verses that drop into a clever combination of ethereal lyrical vocals, organ and drum beat, the track creates conflicting feelings of innocence and power.
Speaking about the song, IMONI explains: “’Hide and Seek’ is about the dark side of your childhood dreams that you never once knew existed. It’s about how people play games for money and success and being resilient through it all”.
“Hide & Seek” showcases the Essex singer/songwriter’s trademark captivating sound, that combines R&B influences with pulsing bass lines, brooding sensibilities and her own ethereal vocals.
After a three-year break from social media and releasing music, IMONI has dropped her comeback song “Energy” in June, after her praised debut single “Money” unveiled in 2017. “Hide & Seek” is the second taste of what’s to come from the Essex singer/songwriter’s debut EP, that should be out soon.
