Whether you were excited or doubtful about the new Silk Sonic band, made up with Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, you can now get a taste of it and make your opinion with the first single they released today.
The track is a smooth R&B vibe with a hint of funk titled “Leave The Door Open”, which came along with a music video directed by Mars and Florent Dechard. The track was co-written by Mars, Anderson, D’Mile, and Brody Brown.
This single is the first dose of what to expect from their forthcoming album An Evening With Silk Sonic which they announced last week. Bruno says about the project that him and .Paak have been “putting (their) heart and soul into these songs”.
We’ve already seen the duo team up in 2017 to tour together during the European leg of Mars’ ’24K Magic’ world tour. Based on the sounds we’ve heard from them so far and the aesthetic behind their forthcoming album, this pair could be a great surprise for 2021.
Although we don’t have a lot of details on their upcoming album, Mars and .Paak did reveal that it features “special guest host Bootsy Collins”, which is apparently the one who came up with the Silk Sonic name. In addition to “Leave The Door Open”, Mars and .Paak are releasing a special intro track that features Collins.
