Unique French luxury brand Chanel have unveiled their 2022 Resort collection. This collection is also one of their most awaited ones, which is also known as the Chanel Cruise collection. As usual, it is Virginie Viard who came up with the designs, and as usual it is stunning.
The inspiration came from Chanel’s classic fashion codes and from the Provence region of the South of France, in Les Baux-de-Provence, where some villages are considered as the most beautiful in France. However, next to this very discreet, sensual way to see this collection, Virginie added a bit of Punk style to it.
Usually, the Cruise collection is very floral with brights colors and very countryside-like, but this year, the color palette is slightly different, mainly black and whites. These colors were paired to miniskirts, dresses, big leather jackets, as well as styling fishnet style stockings.
The resort collection has also some handbag chain suspenders, dog collars, leather fringing on a shimmy dress, tweed suits, and crochet mini dresses. But not only did the double style inspire Virginie, she also took inspiration from the late Stella Tennant and her punk attitude.
To pin down the punk side, ivory lace dresses were scattered with embroidered good luck charms, wide-legged, high-waisted linen pants, and sweatshirts dresses embroidered with Provence—lavender, and other flowers. 100% of the tweeds are from sustainable materials created by the embroiderer Lesage.
Please find below some of the stunning outfits from the collection that was shot in the Carrières de Lumières.
