UK rap star Bugzy Malone has officially announced the winter tour in support of his latest album The Resurrection, which was released last Friday, May 28. The Manchester-born artist will perform in Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle, Leicester, Norwich, Nottingham, London and Manchester, where he will end with a big hometown show at the AO Arena on December 4.
NME’s Caitlin O’Reilly recently wrote about the star in her review of his album, “The Manchester rapper overcame a near-fatal motorbike accident last year to write his would-be opus, on which he balances boastfulness with introspection”, which goes hand in hand with him titling the project The Resurrection, as he has been through a near death experience.
Tickets go on general sale at 9am on June 4, with highlight sure to be the Birmingham show on November 24 and the London show on December 1, however none will be as big as when Bugzy wraps up the tour via his homecoming gig at the AO Arena, which was formerly known as the Manchester Arena, and it will be the first time he performs a headline show at the historic venue.
The 30-year-old star has been a key player in the UK rap and grime revival since appearing on the scene back in 2015. His new album featured singles such as “Salvador”, “Welcome To The Hood” featuring Emeli Sande, and “M.E.N. III”, which debuted at number 18 in the UK singles chart, to give him his highest single chart position to date.
