Lo-Fi Alt Pop Band Weston Estate Return With ‘Outside’

Lo-fi alt/pop band Weston Estate have just released new song “Outside”. The sound gives you a sense of calm and the sweet voices mix perfectly in a hot summer afternoon to relax under the bright sun.

The band takes its name from an affluent neighbourhood adjacent to their hometown of Cary, North Carolina. The five members are best friends and came together in 2017 to form this band finding an enthusiastic fanbase, over 24 million accumulated streams and a major label deal with Arista Records/Sony Music Entertainment.

The members of the band are Srikar Nanduri on guitar, Manas Panchavati and Tanmay Joshi on vocals, Abhi Manhass on production and bass and Marco Luka also on the vocals. They’re all college students who have known each other since they were 14 years old.

We were playing sad songs and there was a mosh pit”, remembers Nanduri. “We somehow got a mosh pit out of high-schoolers at a charity event”.

As the group continues to make music, their range of personalities and individual taste bring a new collective sound that enriches those who hear it. Their own culture serves as an influence, them being all of Indian descent with the exception of Mark who is first generation Cuban-American. The artists that inspire them are Daniel Caesar, Young Thug and Frank Ocean.

Straight-edged middle aged women getting lit to our music is our aesthetic”, they have claimed with pride. Interpret that with a sense of humour. They’ve most definitely got one.
