Italian luxury fashion house Missoni has announced that Filippo Grazioli will succeed Alberto Caliri (now in charge of Missoni Home and Sport) as the brand’s creative director. He will lead the clothing lines while overseeing the brand’s lifestyle sector.
As a reminder: Grazioli previously worked with Martin Margiela on the house’s womenswear line and was the lead womenswear designer for Hermès. He also worked alongside Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy and Burberry, respectively. In an Instagram post, Livio Proli, CEO of Missoni, made the official announcement :
According to the luxury brand, “In accordance with the family and FSI Fund, we have elected Filippo Grazioli, a young designer […] to raise Missoni’s profile and image in the luxury market and further strengthen the modernization process already initiated. He takes over from Alberto Caliri, a long-serving member of the company, and successful designer of the last two collections”
Filippo’s first collection will not be long in coming. The men’s and women’s pre-collection is already planned for May 2022, and his first show will be the Spring/Summer 2023 show, which will be presented at Milan Fashion Week. In a fashion world that is constantly evolving, Missoni also wanted to take the necessary steps to change with it.
Alberto Caliri, not unhappy with this change, declares: “My journey in the world of Missoni continues by switching from jumpers and clothes to home and lifestyle, two worlds both based on beauty, where color and materials merge. With Missoni Home, I can continue to fully express my passion for architecture, art and design“.
In any case, a renewal is coming from the Missoni house and we can’t wait to discover the new creations! Find below a look back at Missoni’s 2022 best looks:
