More than a year after his appointment as creative director of New Balance MADE in USA, Teddy Santis appears to have finally unveiled a selection of looks from his highly anticipated debut collection.
Santis hinted at the collection’s late spring release in an interview earlier this year. At the time, he shared a sneak peek of this season’s footwear on his personal instagram account last month.
So, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 990v1 running model, Santis is placing an unmistakable mix of hairy gray suede, vintage gray mesh and beige suede accents around the 990v1, 990v2 and 990v3. Each version features touches of distressed cream yellow on the midsole.
The first shipment will be divided into three distinct categories – “Elevated Legacy”, which will see classic New Balance colorways used in alternative ways, “Uniform Staple” which will provide a selection of enhanced everyday staples and “Quickstrike”, innovative hues and materials used on key New Balance models.
While the shoes will undoubtedly make headlines, sweatshirts, sweatpants, shorts, long and short sleeve t-shirts will round out the collection, with prices starting at $65 USD. The first installment of the collection will be available April 28 on New Balance’s online store.
