Taylour Paige (Zola) and Hayley Bennett (The Devil All The Time) have joined the previously announced Jonathan Majors in Magazine Dreams, a bodybuilding drama currently in development.
Elijah Bynum (Hot Summer Nights) will direct the film from his own screenplay, which revolves around a bodybuilder who has trouble forming human connections. Bynum’s script previously appeared on the 2020 Black List, a list of the most well-liked screenplays in the industry that haven’t been produced.
Jennifer Fox and Dan Gilroy will produce the film, with Majors executive producing via his production company Tall Street. There’s currently no details on who Paige and Bennett will play.
Paige broke out two years ago after starring in wacky based-on-a-true-story film crime film Zola. Her other upcoming projects include The Toxic Avenger and Brothers.
Bennett has been seen in The Equalizer and The Girl On The Train, but her best role might be as the lead in 2019 psychological drama Swallow. She’s currently filming a role in the upcoming Borderlands adaptation.
The film is expected to begin shooting after Majors completes production on Creed III, which should work out nicely as he’ll already have the physique needed from playing Adonis Creed’s nemesis to step into the role of a bodybuilder.
