Pharrell Williams has announced the return of his annual music festival, Something In The Water.
The three-day event is set to take place in Virginia Beach, Virginia, from April 28 to 30, and will feature a diverse lineup of musical talent. The festival is sponsored by Walmart and Airbnb and will be livestreamed on YouTube.
This year’s lineup includes renowned legendary groups such as Wu-Tang Clan, Mumford & Sons, and SWV, as well as upcoming performers like Kid Laroi, Lil Durk, and Latto. Other acts set to perform include Jay Pharoah, KAYTRANADA, Kehlani, Wale, The Kid LAROI, and many more. Additionally, Pharrell’s Phriends special guests will be invited out by Pharrell.
The festival has a special significance for Pharrell as it is held in his hometown of Virginia Beach. Last year, the event was relocated to Washington, D.C., due to the fatal shooting of Pharrell’s cousin, Donovan Lynch, by a police officer.
Pharrell criticized the local government’s handling of the incident, calling Virginia Beach “toxic,” and expressed disappointment with the lack of “love, respect, and reverence” for his cousin’s life.
Despite this setback, Pharrell has continued to put on the festival as a celebration of music and community. Something In The Water offers a platform for both established and up-and-coming artists to perform and connect with their fans.
With a diverse lineup and a commitment to showcasing musical talent from a variety of backgrounds, Something in the Water promises to be an exciting and inclusive event for all music lovers.
Tickets for the festival are available for purchase now.
