A new single named “Blind Fury” has been released by French beatmaker Ugly Tony. Hip-hop with a melodic edge, enhanced by DJ Duke‘s turntable selections and Journalist 103‘s inspirational grown-man bars. (also known for his work with Apollo Brown in The Left).
This is the first song from Ugly Tony’s upcoming album Time Flies, which will be released on June 2nd through Below System Records.
The album was carefully chosen, and it comprises tracks featuring The AbSoulJah on several occasions as well as Marv Won, Edo. G, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Sean Boog, Snook Da Crook, ETO, and El Gant.
The project’s creator also disclosed that many of the samples utilised were from albums of progressive rock from the 1970s and 1980s.
Prior to Time Flies, Ugly Tony’s last producer LP was 2011’s At Nightfall, which featured appearances from Termanology, King Magnetic, Pumpkinhead, Copywrite, Tragic Allies, Ide & more. Since then, he has recorded joint albums with The AbSoulJah and Phil The Agony .
Ugly Tony was born in the middle of the 1980s. His first exposure to hip-hop was during what most people refer to as the “Golden Era.” Rappers from this time period include Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, and others. Along with these renowned rappers, beat-making or production is another aspect of artistic expression that is as significant.
Since the release of the albums Enter the 36 Chambers and Illmatic production has received considerable interest. Ugly Tony was inspired to start making beats by these two albums.
We can’t wait to see what the Frenchman will offer us in his album. Listen the single below:
