Rising Swedish artist Vilhelm Buchaus returns with a powerful and unexpected new sound. His latest single, “Snow In The Summer” sets the tone for his upcoming debut EP, scheduled for release this autumn under the German label Guesstimate. The single dropped on May 17th and is accompanied by a performance video directed by Sune Chee.
“Snow In The Summer” marks a turning point in Vilhelm Buchaus’ career, with a bold exploration of harder sounds. The song features distorted guitars, powerful drums, and striking pop melodies wrapped in a rock ambiance. The artist describes this track as his most honest and raw to date, reflecting personal struggles and a search for meaning.
“Snow In The Summer is about growing up with the feeling of not having a place to belong, about questions I ask myself that I don’t have answers to, and the struggle to hold on to dreams that are significant,” Vilhelm explains.
Vilhelm Buchaus began his musical journey at a young age, playing his first notes on a homemade guitar at just six years old. His passion for music led him to participate in Lilla Melodifestivalen, once as a solo artist and again as a member of a boy band. His musical influences are varied, ranging from John Mayer and Bruce Springsteen to Ed Sheeran and The 1975, which is reflected in the diversity of his compositions.
Since 2022, Vilhelm has been sharing his creations, including covers and original songs, on his YouTube channel. His compositions are inspired by his personal experiences, from difficult relationships to the challenges of personal growth.
“My upcoming songs are inspired by what I’ve been through over the past few years – from broken relationships to finding oneself,” he says. With a naturally pleasant voice and skillful guitar playing, Vilhelm expresses his life experiences in hopes of helping his listeners in the same way music has helped him.
After debuting with the single “First Cut” in the spring of 2023 and releasing four more singles that same year, Vilhelm Buchaus is now preparing to launch his debut EP in 2024. The release of “Snow In The Summer” is a promising introduction to this project. With captivating performances and a sincere musical approach, Vilhelm Buchaus is undoubtedly an artist to watch closely this year.
