Great news for J.K. Rowling fans as BBC One plans to adapt her adult novel The Cuckoo’s Calling into a drama series! She wrote the new book under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith and weaves a story of crime detectives in the first book of a sinister series. Soon after its release, the ruse was discovered and fans were quick to pick up the latest novel from the legendary Harry Potter writer.
Revolving around less than friendly private investigator Comoran Strike, Rowling’s latest triumph has apparently already been picked up over at the BBC and is set for a new dramatic series. According to Deadline, the new series will be produced by Brontë Film and TV, the same production house that produced Rowling’s BBC adaptation of her other post Potter novel The Casual Vacancy.
It’s early days but we’re pretty excited about the new series, considering the height that Rowling’s name produced and the subject matter, this could easily be a new TV phenomenon that audiences get addicted to. While the number of episodes and their lengths are still being decided, it’s interesting to speculate who they’ll cast to play the prickly private detective, Strike!
