Conceptual Mexican artist Abraham Cruzvillegas is known for making his artwork from found materials. One of his previous projects saw him modify a bicycle, and cycle through Glasgow on it, whilst playing loud music. The Tate Modern itself has housed several individuals’ large scale works in the past, of course one of the most significant sculptural pieces it hosted was Ai Weiwei’s Sunflower Seeds. The first in this new series of annual site-specific commissions will be open to the public from 13 October 2015 to 20 March next year, with Hyundai announced as sponsors of the Turbine Hall for the next decade.
