Wolf Alice – My Love Is Cool (Album Stream) | New Music

Alternative rock band Wolf Alice, from North London, are just days away from the release of their debut album, My Love Is Cool which will be available for purchase on June 22. The band was named after the title of one of author Angela Carter’s short stories, and consists of four members: Ellie Rowsell (vocals, guitar), Joff Oddie (guitars, vocals), Theo Ellis (bass), and Joel Amey (drums).

After several smaller scale self-released samples of their music, they released their debut single titled “Fluffy” in February of 2013, which was followed by their single “Bros” in May. In October of the same year, they released their debut EP titled Blush. They then released a second EP titled Creature Songs in May 2014. This year on February 24, they released the first single from the album “Giant Peach”.

Their music has developed from what can be described as folk-tinged pop in the past, however it has grown more towards folky rock. The haunting sounds of Ellie Rowsell’s angelic vocals linger soothingly, in a tasteful combination with the thick sounds of electric guitar and heavy drum rhythms, adding to a sense of sophistication which will definitely be present in their new album. Pre-order My Love Is Cool now on their website, and listen to the album in full here via iTunes Radio.
