The patrons at Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar were treated to an awesome surprise last Saturday night (July 18). Just three songs into what was meant to be Joe Grushecky’s concert at the New Jersey venue, the Boss, Bruce Springsteen, stunned fans by hijacking the stage. It’s all in good fun, though. Grushecky and Springsteen are friends of over 30 years and it’s their annual tradition to play a surprise set together at the Light of Day benefit concert. The Boss stayed onstage for a blistering two hour, 15-song set, playing hit songs such as “Atlantic City”, “Adam Raised a Cain” and “Because The Night”.
