Eminem Criticized For Rape Lyrics On Dr. Dre’s ‘Compton’ Album | Music News

Recently, Dr. Dre released his first album – Compton – in sixteen years and, understandably, it has been receiving a lot of hype. There were many featured artists on Compton, including Slim Shady himself, Eminem. However, the controversial rapper was harshly criticized for a violently sexual lyric on the song “Medicine Man”. The lines in question were: “Ain’t no one safe from, non-believers there ain’t none / I even make the bitches I rape cum“.

This isn’t the first time that Eminem has made light of rape. Some of the lines from the song “Vegas” for example are: “So what’s it gon’ be? / Put that shit away Iggy. You don’t wanna blow that rape whistle on me / Scream! I love it”. Are they just metaphors for something different, a joke, or are they meant to be taken seriously? Either way, they have the potential to harm others, especially survivors of rape, so it’s good that he was called out on it.
