The first trailer has dropped for comedy horror The Final Girls, initially shown and well received at SXSW 2015. The film stars Taissa Farmiga as Max, the daughter of late iconic scream queen Amanda Cartwright (Malin Akerman). When a screening of the movie that made her mother famous goes awry, Max and her friends are forced to walk through the screen and wind up in Camp Bloodbath.
Directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson, and penned by M. A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller, the film cleverly leans back and addresses genre tropes in a nostalgic and funny way, making this a must-see for slasher fans. The Final Girls is set for theatrical and iTunes release on October 9. You can watch the trailer below.
