Another day, another nugget of excitement for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Today’s takes the form of a new poster focusing on the central villains of the film; The New Order.
Little is known about The First Order; though we can be certain the predominantly military operation became active approximately thirty years after The Battle of Endor. Since then, The First Order has battled the Rebellion for control of the galaxy. Seemingly constructed of the remnants of the original trilogy’s Galactic Empire, or at least following in its footsteps, footage released so far has shown modified troop uniforms, advanced combat vehicles, and a penchant for fascist aesthetics.
The poster, which is an amalgamation of Empire magazine’s October cover and a previously released still, is viewable below:
The poster features Kylo Ren, General Hux, and Captain Phasma, played respectively by Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, and Gwendoline Christie.
We are still to ascertain how these characters are linked, especially with regards to Kylo Ren who we now know receives his orders outside of The First Order. We can however assume that General Hux and Captain Phasma, with their militaristic titles, will be amongst the top brass of the organisation.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in UK cinemas on December 18 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Lupita Nyong’o, and Max von Sydow.
