American emo revivalists The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die (TWIABP) have revealed the latest track from their forthcoming release Harmlessness. As the emo genre has become over saturated in recent years, with bands start to blend the sound with pop-punk and hardcore influences, TWIABP have kept themselves more traditional in terms of sound. Since their inception in 2009, the Connecticut based band have released music that hauntingly builds to whining punk finales, giving an uplifting sense to traditionally sombre music.
This new track, “I Can Be Afraid of Anything” follows this formula and congers up a mood indicative of the songs title. While many releases in this genre present blasé vocal performances passed off as moody, TWIABP face the listener face on with shout-along indie vocals as the guitars lull you into the dramatic finish. Harmlessness will be released on September 25 on Epitaph Records.
