Since the 2012 space epic Prometheus, many questions have been up in the air regarding its (many) ambiguous plot threads but also about the sequel which has turned up time and time again without any real details, at least until recently. With director Ridley Scott keeping himself busy releasing a movie every year since, most recently directing The Martian with Matt Damon, it seems he is back on to making the sequel re-titled to Alien: Paradise Lost, a film which he says will reveal who created the aliens.
Speaking with IGN he said this: “Prometheus 2 will start getting shot in February and I’ve already begun now so I know what the script is. Then there will be another one after that and then maybe we’ll back into Alien 1, as to why? Who would make such a dreadful thing?”
Skyfall and Spectre screenwriter John Logan will be handling the script for Paradise Lost with Scott planning to shoot in Australia. Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender will return with a new set of cast members to play a new group of travellers. Everything looks above board but the original film was poorly written and had pretension of being smarter than it actually is, The Martian was success for Scott and with John Logan, maybe this will turn out alright.
