Lionsagte productions certainly has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, as their final installment of The Hunger Games series: Mockingkay Part 2 has earned them the number one spot in the box office this weekend. The highly anticipated film accumulated a grand leading total of $75.8 million this weekend alone; which will be added to its worldwide total of $440.7 million.
Stragglers include Disney Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, who will definitely have his tail between his legs, for the movie only managed a mere $55.6 million over the five day celebration, making this Disney Pixar’s lowest opening in a long time. The American sports drama film Creed (starring Michael B. Jordan) earned a terrific $42.6 million, meaning the profit matches up to its strong critical reviews.
However, it seems that Victor Frankenstein was knocked out by knock out Creed; for the horror movie starring James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe barely came to life, only collecting a poor $3.4 million over the five days. Hats off to The Hunger Games!
