Hosted by YouTube sensations Oli White and Hazel Hayes, and catering to 16 to 24 year old audiences, McDonald’s has launched its very own youth-centric entertainment channel on YouTube named Channel Us. Marketed as – “made by Us, for Us“. The channel is hosting a series of shows over 20 weeks, where young people have been tasked with putting their skills and challenges to the test, by completing a challenge in just 72 hours.
Some of the first few episodes on the channel have seen 21-year old budding comedian Jordan tasked with creating a stand-up routine and performing it live at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. 17-year old poet ‘Dialectic’ Dee tried to put on a spoken word flash mob in London, whilst 24-year old fashion graduate Amelia Friend created a catwalk collection and showed it off at a fashion show. 18-year old aspiring filmmaker Jaden Stone wrote, shot and directed his own short film, whereas 21-year old emerging rapper Ellis Cuddy recorded new music and performed it live at a London concert – all within 72 hours.
