With only a week left to go before the film finally hits theatres, the hype machine for The Force Awakens is being kicked in to overdrive (as if it wasn’t already hyped enough for you). Press screenings for the film are set for Wednesday next week, whilst review embargoes are not due to be lifted until the following day. Still, some lucky folks are starting to get a better look at the film, so it’s inevitable that we can expect to see some opinions begin to leak out over the following 7 days.
Earlier this week we learned that George Lucas has seen the entire film, and stated “I think the fans are going to love it. It’s very much the kind of movie they’ve been looking for”. Now thanks to a tweet early this morning, we have found out that Russell Crowe has seen an extended 9 minute clip of the film, which he simply described as being “Spectacular”. If you’re looking to stay spoiler/review free from The Force Awakens until you see it, now would probably be a good time to stay away from Twitter for a week.
