It was a case of “opposites attract” when Millie Mackintosh married Professor Green in 2013; and now, in a frank interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, the former Made In Chelsea star has spoken out about how well suited she thinks they are as a couple, despite the contrast in their upbringings.
Whereas Professor Green (real name: Stephen Manderson) had a tough childhood, Mackintosh’s family once owned Quality Street. Mackintosh has since rubbished claims that she is an heiress to the brand, however, confirming that her family would certainly not be supporting her financially throughout her life. She went on to state, in no uncertain terms, that “it’s ridiculous to think that people from different backgrounds can’t be together“.
In the interview, Mackintosh highlights how the pair are just a “normal” couple, known simply as Mr and Mrs Manderson, when they’re at home. She revealed her top tip for a successful relationship as “effective communication“. While the subject of starting a family is not far from their thoughts, Mackintosh admitted that there’s no rush for her to become a mum. She also shared her hopes that any future offspring would be “sheltered” yet “streetwise“.
