Season finale’s can be like marmite – leaving you full or with a bad taste in your mouth. Sex and the City creator Darren Star is definitely in the latter as he criticises how the series he created ended. The series and its multiplicity of movie spinoffs concluded with Carrie Bradshaw marrying Mr. Big – the guy with whom she’d had a long on-off affair.
“But I think the show ultimately betrayed what it was about, which was that women don’t ultimately find happiness from marriage. Not that they can’t. But the show initially was going off script from the romantic comedies that had come before it”.
