Upcoming Australian coastal drama The Light Between Oceans is scheduled for a 2016 cinematic release with Hollywood heavyweights Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Rachel Weisz set to appear in the film.
The narrative for the film is centred around an Australian married couple (Fassbender and Vikander) whom choose to falsely adopt a child when an abandoned baby girl is found stranded on a lifeboat washed up on the Australian coast.
However they soon discover the negative consequences in passing off the child as their own when they encounter an estranged woman (Rachel Weisz) whom claims she lost her child at sea the same time the baby girl was found.
The Light Between Oceans is based on a best selling novel written by M.L. Stedman, and is to be directed by Derek Cianfrance, scheduled to be released worldwide by Touchstone Pictures on September 2, 2016.
