It is with the heaviest of hearts that Tom Clarke announced The Enemy would be calling it a day after 10 years.
The trio first stepped into a rehearsal room in 2006 before releasing their first album We’ll Live And Die In These Towns and it going straight to number 1 in 2007. Since then, the band have churned out many a working class anthem from “Away From Here” to “Be Somebody” to “Saturday”.
Their second album Music For The People is possibly the best way to describe the band, a band that understands its fans and how many people take refuge in their music whilst waiting for the weekend which is what makes it such a shame that they are waving goodbye.
The band have supported Oasis, The Fratellis, Kasabian, The Paddingtons, Ash, Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonics on their UK tour as well as numerous festival appearances and a joint tour with The Twang in 2014. You can read Tom Clarke’s statement here .
