According to Pete Rock‘s social media feed over the last few days, there is a new album on its way from the Chocolate Boy Wonder and the fellow NYC native, Smoke DZA.
The collaborative effort, which has yet to be given a precise release date is currently titled, Don’t Smoke Rock. Maybe this pairing is one that could very well bring the boom-bap update hip-hop heads have been waiting for.
For other works from the legendary Pete Rock, you can refer to the recently released posthumous J Dilla album, The Diary, where he joins the likes of Madlib, Karriem Riggins and more in providing the production values for Dilla to lace his flows.
