Grime rapper Afrikan Boy, real name Olushola Ajose, is back from his music hiatus to release the video for his brand new single “Wot It Do?“, released through Joca Records. Not only is he back with a new song but he’s also back with a new look as he sports short dreadlocks in his new video.
The syth-bass anthem is a ‘get up out of your seats’ kind of track. He effortlessly mixes English with Pidgin and the song is an embodiment of fun. Afrikan Boy carries the energy of the song as he rocks out with his all-female and kids cast. The vibrant colours and scenic skyline shots further capture a grasp of his energy and the energy of London. His eccentric dressed female cast had fun shooting the video from the energy in the video.
Speaking to The FADER, he explained that the concept for the video is about removing the lines from reality. “Everyone puts their reality out through various screens and we all crop out elements of things we don’t want to send out to the world.”
