Alienstock Festival In Area 51 Cancelled Over ‘Humanitarian Disaster’ Fears | Music News

The Alienstock music festival, near Area 51 in Nevada, has been cancelled! Its organizer, Matty Roberts, released an official statement on the festival’s website, saying that they’ve decided to “pull the plug” following safety concerns.

Indeed, they have taken this decision “due to the lack of infrastructure, poor planning, risk management and blatant disregard for the safety of expected 10,000+ Alpenstock attendees“.

The three-day-fest was supposed to take place in Rachel, Nevada from September 20-22, and it was billed as an alien-themed ‘party in the desert’.

In the statement it’s also added that, “We are not interested in, nor will we tolerate any involvement in a Fyre Fest 2.0. We foresee a possible humanitarian disaster in the works, and we can’t participate in any capacity at this point,”.

Indeed, organizers have also ended their relationship with the festival’s permit holder, Connie West who failed to give proof that the things expected at the festival were in place.

However, the organizers didn’t just give up. They have turned the event into an ‘Area 51 Celebration’ on September 19 at the downtown Las Vegas Events Center. The free, one-day event will feature Collective Zoo.

It does seem that some people still want to go to Rachel, and the organisers have tried to deter them by saying on its website, “If any event still happens it is going to be a pretty sad affair with no bands, very little infrastructure, and a lot of unhappy campers. Instead of coming out to Rachel to storm Area 51, why not follow the Alienstock organisers and enjoy the party in Las Vegas?

Any way, now the question is it is a Fyre Festival 2.0 with organizers attempting to scam people out of money? This is a speculation and we don’t already know the answer.
